Hi, I’m Lauren
I know you want me to give you a quick-fix solution to getting more lash clients. Unfortunately that doesn’t exist, because if there were one way of achieving this, every lash artist and salon would be milking it!!
However, don’t lose hope! There are some actions you can take to create brand awareness and gain new clientele.
Let’s review.
Focus on the salon experience
If you want your existing clients to stick around, but even better; refer their friends, colleagues and family to you, you need to have an outstanding salon experience. Every. Time. If that feels like a high-standard to uphold, then this is something you must to implement into your salon.
Delivering a consistent and high-quality service is what will get you noticed. Even if you’re not a high-end salon, you should still be offering excellent customer service – that’s the foundation of any successful business.
Other things to consider include:
How you greet clients as they enter the salon and the treatment room matters (especially if it’s two different staff members).
Waiting time: Did their appointment run on time? If not, why not? If they were waiting due to unforeseen circumstances, how did you respond and treat them during this time?
Was the customer offered a drink on arrival? What about a pillow or blanket at the beginning of their treatment?
Did you treat them as the most important person in the world before, during and after their appointment?
How does your salon/treatment space look? Is it clean? Do your tools and products have a designated area to live? Is the room neat and tidy?
How was the check-in and out process? Were they asked to rebook? If not, why not?
What’s your follow up procedure? Do you have one? If you haven’t read this blog on follow-ups. You must!
These things might seem basic, but they’re super important!
Get active on social media
Whether you love or hate the social beast, today, social media is critical to most businesses. It’s like the Yellow Pages for the new generation. A consistent and on-brand social media presence showcasing high-quality images with educational or thoughtful captions shows the world your business exists. Plus, it’s free! Yes, you can maximise your reach by using social ads, which can help…but not before you create a visually compelling feed.
If you’re already on social media – which, you likely are, then make sure you are engaging with your followers. Connect with your existing clients. Comment and respond to all social communications. If you’re too busy, have one of your staff members do this – or hire a social media manager. For an in-depth action plan on how best to execute on your social media channels, download my free Seven Figure Lash Salon ebook.
Run promotions
Consider promoting a different service or package every so often. Promotions don’t necessarily mean you lower your prices either. Discounting too often could attract the wrong type of clientele – ever heard the saying, “if you charge peanuts, you will get monkeys?!”.
Instead, be smart about what type of promotion you run. A couple of examples could be bundling treatments and designing an offer (or few) that’s too good to refuse! Or, start a referral system, where clients gain points or a discount on their next treatment for referring a friend. I explain this in detail in my ebook. Get it here.
Find a balance to running your promotions – one which works for your salon and clients. Don’t be too focused on other salons. You don’t know the ins and outs of their business model. Listen to your customers. Know what your most popular services are. Get creative.
When you find your promotion sweet spot, your client-base will learn to look out for them, and potentially bulk buy in that timeframe.
Once you have mastered all the above, continue to invest your energy in keeping those new clients happy, and ensure they keep coming back!
